Hey lovely,
Before the endless demands of your day, before you even check your phone, take a moment for you. Imagine this as our little secret—an invitation to pause, to cherish yourself, and to honor the beautiful vessel that carries you through life.
An oil massage isn’t just a skincare ritual—it’s a tender conversation with your body, a moment of reconnecting with your inner radiance. It’s the gentle art of self-love, where each stroke whispers, “You are precious.”
The Ritual, Reimagined
Traditional in Ayurveda, deeply intuitive in nature, oil massage (also called abhyanga) is a slow, rhythmic application of warm oil to the body. It’s deeply grounding and nourishing, especially when done with love.
You don’t need a spa or a set routine—just time, intention, and oil that your body drinks in.
What You’ll Need:
A small bowl of warmed body oil (think sweet almond, jojoba, or sesame)
Optional essential oils like lavender, rose, or ylang ylang for sensuality and relaxation
A cozy towel or blanket to wrap yourself in after
Soft lighting or candlelight (let your bathroom or bedroom become your sanctuary)
How to Perform Your Blissful Oil Massage:
Begin at your feet. With slow, circular motions, work the oil into your skin—this is grounding and calms the nervous system.
Move upward, massaging your legs, thighs, hips, and belly. Use long strokes on the limbs, circular on the joints.
Massage your chest and heart center with gentleness and intention.
Finish with your arms, neck, and shoulders, then your scalp or face if desired (use a separate facial oil for this).
Wrap yourself in warmth—a robe, a towel, or sunlight—and let the oil soak in while you rest or meditate.
“Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.” — Jim Rohn
Why It Heals:
Releases tension and emotional stagnation stored in the body
Improves circulation and skin texture
Calms anxiety and supports nervous system regulation
Stimulates lymphatic flow (aka natural detox)
Reinforces self-love and body trust
“The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness.”
— Sakyong Mipham
A TBB Mantra to Whisper as You Massage:
“This body is sacred.
These hands are healing.
I soften. I surrender. I return to myself.”
